Self Made, Self Taught, Self Affirming, and Self Sustaining Artist, Writer, and Firearms Instructor.
I had a bio on here, where the predominant noun that was used was "I". Going to try and dial that back down a bit as nobody likes someone who thinks too much of themselves. While being self-depricating can be entertaining, it's not always an endearing quality when telling someone why you think you're talented.
So that's not going to be something that is done here. My bio would read like something out of a mix between Cormac McCarthy, Stephen King, and the person who wrote "Hillbilly Elegy". I say that because oddly enough Glenn Close looked way too much like my mother for me to actually sit through that.
That said, they say that tragedy creates the best comedians. I am likely funnier than you are.
I have written comedy and made art for about 30 years or more. It's something that is not a real qualification you find on a conventional job application. It's how my life ended up having wasted all the untapped potential given to me by the universe.
There are things in the world that you will be loved for, and things that will make you the most hated person on earth. I have found that it is far better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you are not.
A conversation will reveal there is an untapped ocean of things dark and monstrous under the surface and that is where the majority of my inspiration comes from.
Enjoy the work, and if it terrifes you, or gives you the impression that something unsettling resides within me, know that this is only the surface you are seeing. As a writer and artist, I have an outlet for those things which are just begging to come out.
